Damin Hirst became famous for a number of artworks where animals were preserved in formaldehyde, he had also been claimed for the richest living artist to date. One of his works 'For the love of God' was made in 2007, with 8601 diamonds which cost 14 million to produce.
ReplyDeleteApparently the title of this piece was inspired by his own mother whom had said "for the love of god, what are you going to do next?".
His friend John Lekay was quite shocked that Damien had made this piece reason being John had made a sculpture earlier in 1993, and it was pretty much the same idea yet the skull was made of crystals, he felt as if Damien had copied his idea.
